A LETTER TO WOMAN part 1

THE CREATION OF WOMAN
A letter to all women part 1
Book to read the kings daughters by Diana hagee

When I created the heavens and the earth,I spoke things into being.
When I created man,I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils.
But you, woman,I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into your man because your nostrils were too delicate.
I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.
Man was put to sleep so he could not interfere with the creativity.
From one bone I fashioned you.
I chose the bone that protects man's life.
I chose the bone that protects man's life.
I chose the rib, which protects the heart and lungs and supports him,as are meant to do .
Around this one bone I shaped you.
I moulded you.
I created you perfectly and beautifully.
Your characteristics are as the rib-strong yet delicate and fragile.
You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man;his heart.
His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life.
The rib cage will allow itself to be broken, before it will allow damage to the heart.
Support man as the rib cage supports the body.
You were not taken from his foot to be under him, nor were you taken from his head to be above him.
You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side to stand by his side
You are my perfect angel.
You are my beautiful girl.
You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my Eyes fill when I see the virtue. In your heart.
Your eyes- don't change them.
Your lips how lovely when they part in prayer.
Your nose, so perfect in form.
Your hands so gentle to touch.ive caressed your face in your deepest sleep.
I've held your heart close to mine.

Of all that lives and breaths you are the most like me.
Adam walked with me in the cool of day,and yet he was lonely.
He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me.
so everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me.
I fashioned in you; my holiness,my strength my purity,my love,my protection and support.
You are an extension of me.
Man represents my image.
Woman,my emotions together you represent the. Totality of God

LESSONS FROM MOTHERHOOD

BEING A MOM KEEPS YOU YOUNG IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEE THE WORLD FROM THEIR LITTLE EYES
Motherhood is where all love begins and
where children become the anchors that hold a mother to life.

The first moment i saw my daughter was magical  .
For the first time i saw what the world was really about . I saw her beautiful eyes stairing back at me and all i wanted to do was protect her ,hold her and  love her.
That feeling has not left me even in the toughest of days just looking into her beautiful eyes or getting one of her little hugs brings me joy.

The truth about motherhood is that. You dont know what your getting yourself into and you are not as prepaired as you think.
It is the greatest thing you can experience and it can  also be the hardest.
Because we are human .
the thing about being a child of your mother is that you will never understand what it is like until you have your own child .

After i gave birth and i was taken back to my room and my mum came in i broke down crying and said how sorry i was .Truth be told that was the most sincere apology i ever gave her because i truly meant it and wanted to be better. In that moment all the love she had given me flashed before my eyes and so did the times that i was not greatful and took her for granted.

You don't take a class; you're thrown into motherhood and learn from experience. You go from living your best life doing what you want to do when you want .
To sacrificing everything you have from your time to your friends,to your sleep, to your hobbies to ensure that your child has a shot in this life .To ensure your child is happy to ensure that you have a life long friend that will take care of you when you cant take care of your self.

The lesson i learnt from all of this was that being a parent doesnt mean that you possess all the skills to be a parent and it doesnt mean that you become a super mom .it just means that you have everyday for the rest of your life to become better.
I would urge all of you to see the human in your parents wherther or not they are flawed. Remember that they loved you first and that they loved you as you are so .love them as they are.

Remember this.Being a mum is a series of conscious choices that enable you to raise your child ,either better than you where raised, just as you where raised , or you can choose not to care.
You choose how your child will view you and approach you for the rest of their life meaning you can either be their rock or you can  be the  reason for their fall.

THE SPIRIT OF AFRICAN UNITY:OUR BORDERS ARE JUST LINES DRAWN BY OUR COLONIZERS

I AM NOT AFRICAN BECAUSE I WAS BORN IN AFRICA BUT BECAUSE AFRICA WAS BORN IN ME,AND THE POWERS THAT KEEP US UNITED ARE FAR GREATER THAN THE SUPERIMPOSED INFLUENCES THAT KEEP US APART.

Patrice  lumumba said,"These divisions which the colonial powers have always exploited to dominate us.Have played an important role and are still playing that role in the suicide of Africa."

Before we colonization we lived peacefully in unity growing and supporting each other with the occasional cattle raid lol . We then got colonized and although we attained Independence of our countries . It is evident that we never uncolonized our minds.

Watching what has happened in the past and continues to happen In Africa from the Rwandan genocide to Kenya's post election violence to South Africa's xenophobia. To nigeria SARS police brutality. To corrupt leaders leading countries to abject poverty  or to the increased hate towards dark skin and how we bleach our skin to be lighter to be less African .

We have been convinced that we are inferior that we want to eliminate everything that makes us unique.what we forget is that being African comes from within it . The African spirit is greater than anything that happens to us.we where slaves and we now celebrate black billionaires .They hated our music our fashion and now it's what is seen and heard around the world

We where forced to turn against each other as they divided and conquered Africa (I'm sure that phrase began in Africa) and they ensured that we were divided to ensure that they can take from us what is ours.Because they knew the value of what we had and where threatened by the power we would and could have if we came together to improve our continent.

We elect incompetent leaders to speak for us to rule our countries and instead of helping those who elected them all they do is drive us further apart, and have us murder each other while they sit in their luxurious homes and offices unbothered.

Kwame Nkuruma said,"it is clear that we must find an African solution to our problems and that this can only be found in African unity.Divided we are weak,United Africa could become one of the greasy forces for good in the world.

We have to remember that, Hatred paralyzes life. Love releases it.
Hatred confuses life.Love harmonizes it.
Hatred darkens Life. Love luminates it.

History teaches us that unity is strength and cautions us to submerge and overcome our differences in the quest for common goals to strike with all our combined strength for the path to true  African brotherhood is unity."Haile Selassie

We are a representation of what our future will look like. I love a quote by the late
Jommo Kenyatta that says."Our children may learn about heroes of the past, but our task is to make ourselves architects of the future.
If you think you are to small to make a difference clearly you haven't spent the night with a mosquito.
Anything you can do to make the world impacts a person at a time and before you know it you leave a legacy that impacts the lives of countless people.

Let me end this post with these two quotes. Nelson Mandela said,"I dream of an Africa which is in peace with its self ." I feel for us to reach that point we have to understand what the Dali lama meant when he said ," world peace begins with inner peace.

THE IMAGE OF THE BLACK WOMAN

See my posts on .the right hand side under the label women empowerment , modern woman and self worth.
Picture of  Tanzanian beauty Zakia
She is strong  however .
She is still human
She is not immune to pain in all her strength.
She is angry I'll tempered and  ready to pick a fight
And to that i respond with a question.
Who goes to disturb a lioness in rest????????
She is curves .
She is thee reference of beauty.
What they forget to mention is that she comes in different shapes, shades and sizes .
Irregardless .
She is perfect in the form she is.
She is a masterpiece of the creator.
A unique masterpiece. Unmatched and unlike anything on this earth.
She is unique .
Dont try make her a copy of your own delusions.

We walk around with an invisible armour being a mother ,being a daughter, being a child ,being persceptions that are expected of us.

That we loose who we are .,we loose our essence.
We get corrupted with thoughts of what we lack .
What we are not overshadows what we are . That we believe we have little or nothing to offer.

We have been told what we are supposed to be.
We have been denied the freedom and the space to be ourselves.
Because the image of us has already been painted.
We are subject to their beliefs .
We have been shamed for who we are and when we decided to embrace our true nature. They say it is too much or sometimes say it is too little .
They have critisisized our hair our skin and our ways. They have cursed us and denied us and now you want to look like us?

I think it is time to cut the black woman some slack because at the end of the day you only hate because you lack what we have and it bothers you.

NAIROBI WOMAN

NAIROBI WOMAN
Part 2of2

See part 1

I felt challenged to write this post when someone said in a meeting. ,if you Google nairobi women all you see is negative results ,and without a doubt. We can be intense. However I will give you an aspect ,that is in true fashion .Untold Lives Of Women Kenya so here goes.
See part 1of 2

Walking in town no longer excites her. She walks with a world of thoughts and regrets on her shoulders.
The city has stolen so much from her. She has changed. How she wishes she could go back to the simple days. When she was just a young girl without a care in the world.

Her thoughts overwhelm her as she walks through the streets . Failed relationships. Unrealistic expectations placed on her by society of what she should be, that make her doubt if she is good enough. Her insecurities tend to get the best of her when she is in this mood. Sometimes she will lash out.

Sometimes ,she will revert inwards . Which to onlookers makes her look like a mean person. She had dreams once. To her the sky was the limit . Now it feels like a bottomless pit. She goes to work where she is overworked and under paid. She has a family to work for so she gives it her absolute best because she knows she needs the money. Waiting to be acknowledged with a promotion that never seems to come her way.

She cooks, she cleans, she slaves away. Nobody acknowledges her hard work . So she occasionally buys a new bag, or new hair or new shoes. Because she feels, if she looks good on the outside she will feel it on the inside. Some days it works. Some days it doesn't so walking around in a lesso with a stocking on her head will do just fine.

She has few friends because she couldn't stand the fakeness of the rest. She occasionally has a drink or two to silence the voices and be free for a few hours. The hangover makes the regret even worse because she still has to do her daily chores and support her family as mother, wife, daughter and friend.

The sound of a horn makes her snap out of the world she was in back to her reality. She puts on her fake smile buys ingredients for dinner, engages in small talk and then goes home to fulfil yet another role, but she is fine with it. She knows she is built for whatever comes her way. Because the African woman is "a home maker."  ..........................

So who is the Nairobi Woman you may ask? SHE is an evolution of the nairobi Girl. She is a mother, she is a daughter, she is a friend, she is an employer, she is an employee. She has different roles and goes about them differently. Everyone is different and that what makes us beautiful. If we spend more time building her up instead of tearing her down she will thrive . If you treat her wrong. Wrong is exactly what you will get. Above all DO NOT JUDGE HER because if you where given a mile to walk in her shoes you would crumble. And to you I say what you are going through is not who you are stand tall. Never give up. You are phenomenal.

NAIROBI GIRL (part1of2)

NAIROBI GIRL
Part 1 of 2

I felt challenged to write this post during a meeting when someone said, "if you Google nairobi Girl all you see is negative results." and without a doubt we can be a handful. However,I will give you an aspect that is in true fashion "Untold Lives Of Women Kenya" so here goes my take on the Nairobi Girl.

Growing up, in the red, rustic, bushy  village of her childhood .Where she spent her days ,barefoot going about her daily chores. Far away from the dreamy ,urban city of Nairobi. The only images she had of this magical place ,were the images the of town folk she saw, when they came home for the holidays .Their flawless skin, lavish clothes, fabulously styled hair and luxurious cars. She looked up to them because they spoke eloquently.

That is when she noticed that, she couldn't speak like them. All she knew was her mother tongue and a few English words, that had been taught to her. She looked at her dusty feet and longed for a day that she could be a "city girl".

It's high school graduation day now, and the next day . She smiles from ear to ear. Knowing she will be leaving farm life and finally become what she has always aspired to be.

Nairobi is exactly what she pictured and more. The sites ,sounds and smells overwhelm her senses. She realises she needs to re invent herself.

Slowly she changes her look, gets a new walk, a new accent and even pretends she doesn't know her mother tongue. But now, she has a new challenge. She wants to be like the the Kim Kardashians of today and the famous socialites she sees online. (of course she is now on social media and has learnt how to pout for a selfie)
She even has a boyfriend who has tasted of her forbidden fruit. She feels like she is a woman now. However she is still one step behind how will she get to the VVIP status with no money.

Days go bye and a lot changes soon she looks in the mirror and she can no longer recognise herself.
How she wishes she could go back to her simple days when she was just a girl from the farm. She has changed. Walking in town no longer excites her. She walks with a world of thoughts and regrets on her shoulders.
The city has stolen so much from her......... to be continued

COUNTDOWN TO THE NEXT ONE. . . .

.A WOMAN'S MOODS

Most days i spend the day smiling and living in my own fantasy bubble. Waltzing around and that is my happy place its where i am being me with no apologies
Other days i just wake up unhappy without warning  It gets to a point when all the alarms in your head keep going off. One after the other and you just have to explode to be ok and it's just because we carry a lot with us and when it all catches up its like a ticking time bomb.
Sometimes a simple task or a sudden memory can trigger an emotional outburst of tears  which makes you wonder what is wrong with me?and No i am not PMSing.
As I began writing this post I searched for related quotes and Google had me laughing endlessly.
The first one that caught my eye was "only two things can change a woman's moods.I LOVE YOU and a 50% discount sale."

In all honesty depends on the situation but it can also add fuel to the fire. I.e so if you love me why did ..... and their is never a right answer when a woman is mad .So just stay clear and stick to I'm sorry to be on the safe side.
A 50% sale hahaha always is good to buy new stuff but when your mad or sad and go a little too far and wake up the next morning looking through yesterday's receipts. Those 999's keep adding up to thousands and you want to kill someone. Yep that discount didn't help just made things worse.

The next one that caught my eye was "some people have mood swings others have mood theme parks."
when the reality is  a woman's life is like a theme park the first few days shes happy the next shes excited the last she is agitated
An estimated 85 percent of women experience at least one symptom of PMS per month,(premenstrual syndrome)

During this time Follicle-stimulating hormone, or FSH, is secreted, stimulating the production of follicles in the ovaries that contain eggs.
This is more likely to be your “happy” time of the month. “It may just be in contrast to the second part of the month,”
During a woman’s ovulatory phase, a substance called luteinizing hormone increases.
This hormone prompts the release of an egg from the ovaries into the fallopian tubes for fertilization. Estradiol is present in significant quantities around the time of ovulation, and it can interact with other hormones to increase your libido.

“Estradiol makes insulin more effective,Then the insulin tells the body to release more testosterone, and testosterone is one of the hormones that regulate sex drive.” Some experts surmise that this may be nature’s way of encouraging women to have sex during their most fertile time.may have a greater tolerance to pain too. You might also be more likely to buy clothes, makeup, and other items to help yourself feel more attractive,

After ovulation, the empty follicle that once contained the egg begins to secrete the hormone progesterone to thicken the lining of the uterus and prepare it for the possible implantation of an embryo.
As progesterone levels rise, you may begin to feel moodier. This happens because progesterone helps the body make cortisol, a hormone that tends to be higher in people who are stressed. If cortisol levels are already elevated because of outside factors, like a busy workweek, the progesterone can cause an excess of cortisol in the body. “If I’m already doing something to give myself high cortisol levels, by the time I get to the second half of my cycle, I’m going to be irritable,The “yucky” feelings that come in the days before your period might have you looking like a creature.

In conclusion from all the quotes I've read it's evident that a woman's moods can shift real quick and at the end of the day it's better to be on a woman's good side so don't start up something you are not prepared to finish.

THE BEAUTY THAT IS WOMAN

WOMAN

We are beautiful both on the inside and outside.
We love to love, and dream of fairy tales.
We want to live in love , and feel it in every aspect of your lives.
We give without expecting much.
We are tough but gentle creatures.
We are strong.
We don’t give up easily, and  fight for what we want no matter the cost .Even when surrounded by darkness, we see a brighter day and we never stop believing it will come.

Yet the love we have for each other ,seems to be filled with jealously ,envy, scorn and deceit .we see each other as competitors,an enemy of each other. we compete against each other instead of pulling out efforts together to build each other make our lives better.

Long have i seen a day, when we embrace  each other to build a  world with a global network of women or women. who fight for each other as passionately as we fight against eachother , truly and genuinely  with no ulterior motives .Fighting to make our lives better stand up for each other.Fight for what is rightfully ours stand behind each other, ready to help each other build a future that is for women.

We hold the keys  to a successful  life, our gentle hands are gifted  with the ability  to mould  and care for. Our ability to multitask, give us the ability to be successful in more than on aspect of life.

If we could mentor each other ,share our experiences with those younger than us and be there for those among us,who feel alone ,and be genuinely there  for each other .Supporting, caring ,sharing ,building and inspiring each other .We are destined for greatness  and that’s why we are suppressed .we need to break the chains enforced upon us.We all have similar stories ideas hopes and dreams and the only way to achieve it is  by standing together, and fighting for our liberation. So we can be free to live our lives as is best ,For dreams to become a reality ,and for all those who see us as less  than ,to realize they were wrong ,and for us to know within us that we are great no matter where we are from, or what colour our skin tone is and even whatever age we are.
