 A caged bird sings on the grave of dreams. His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream,his wings are clipped and his feet are tied. So he opens his throat to sing a fearful thrill, of things unknown but longed for. His tune is heard on the distant hill, for the caged bird sings of freedom ,but a free bird,leaps on the back of the wind and dips it's wings in the orange sun rays and dares to claim the sky."Maya angelou -Cage Bird

We go through life searching for  Purpose trying to achieve the goals which have been subconsciously embedded in us. Ambition grows and the lives we want to live begin to appear within our reach.it becomes the reason for our existence. We never want to be anything less than great.we don't want to fall short.Then you realize you have been basing your life on what people think.

And sometimes it seems like nobody  cares. All the good times start to weigh heavily. Tomorrow comes, and goes,nothing can ever be the same.

I understand now that I'm pretty much on my own,And a lot of what I do will never be known. And everything I endure I will have to keep in which only causes me to retreat inwards as I evolve in my new skin

It dawns on me now that I have fought to become who I am and what I want to be.

I have to remind myself I am free,i am no longer a child. Nothing is mild. Nothing is fair.

 I no longer expect the unrealistic, I let go of what I knew yesterday.

For what I know now is the truth, no longer a misconception of this reality but my reality .

I open my ears,my heart and my head for the first time in a long time .

I then free my soul .

I refuse to be like the cage bird. No longer will I wish for. I will go out and get.

I then spread out my arms and with a loud sigh I release it all and vow to be like a free bird and soar high in th sky under the  beauty of the sun's ray's

THERE IS BEAUTY IN YOUR STRUGGLE

I WONT HIDE MY FACE IT SHOWS MY STRENGTH

I walk in the darkness striving for the light. 

No one can see my footsteps it's way to dark.  

I focus on the light, but get drawn into the warmth of the dark .

Although No one can see my footsteps, I know the journey I've been on. 

You may not see the scars, but they are there. 

Give me back the light . 

So I can be as I once was.

The war in my head ,when  my heart chooses hope .

 Give me back my freedom so I can have the piece I knew.

A freedom, I remember but can't comprehend .

I'm so used to the dark, but only for this short while.

 I know it's momentous  .

Then the sun sets and a new dawn rises.

 I see the light as I once saw it and I run for it not looking back.

 I acknowledge the darkness and as I leap out of it

 I am aware of my growth. I am aware of my journey.

 I am aware I can't be the same.

 I have to embrace my new identity for I am born of this earth now I have served my time and earth I shall become.

I HOLD THE WORLD IN MY HANDS

I look at the world and all I see is a narrow fenced off space allocated to me. Then I look at the space and I know ,That all these walls oppression builds,Will have to go!

I look at my own body,With eyes no longer blind. And I see that my own hands can make The world that's in my mind.


 I can do anything I set my mind to do. I am aware of the power i posses the power that is me ,as an individual, and through the power my creator has given me.I realized ,if you take away the walls that have been given to you there's nothing you can't conquer there's nothing that will sway you because you know everything that you go through is to make you better. It's to equip you with the knowledge you will need on the next step you take. it's for u to chose strength and hope over hopelessness.


As long as you have breath, you have the ability to achieve your dreams, aspirations and goals you have the ability, to dream and make it happen. No longer should you view the world as a narrow closed off space.Literally live your life like an artist. Create your best piece of work, be creative with no restrictions and watch your art ,become timeless. Watch it inspire the lives of those who will come after you.

I once read that ," see the World in a Grain of Sand.And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
 hold Infinity in the palm of your hand. And Eternity in an hour.' To me that short extract explained more to me than 10 self help books would i urge you to take your time and see the power and depth of those words

TAKING UP LEADERSHIP ROLES


We have been raised to think that,one day we will kiss a frog and it will turn into prince charming, and we will live happily ever after.When the reality is that it is so far off from the truth.
Our reality is nothing like what we see on television or even what we read about.

If there is one thing, I would like to tell Women both young and old is ,we need to be honest with ourselves. we need to be realistic as well . We can't bring up the next generation of women thinking the same.heart ache needs to be avoided . We need to bring up our boys right

We are told to persevere through emotional abuse, because nobody is perfect. We are told that we shouldn't answer back because a man is the head of the home. Our society allows men to do whatever they feel like and that is exactly what they do and end up setting bad examples for our sons . We then stay silent and show our daughters that they are inferior and they just have to know their place because this is what it means to be a woman.

In the 21 Century, there is no room for us to follow blindly like sheep . we need to be able to harness our strengths, and mold the world as we do in our homes.We have the most responsibility because we have the greatest capability to effect change.

I'm not being pessimistic. i am looking for a realistic solution to our current situation.We can't keep hoping for "rainbows and unicorns".
Things don't miraculously change.You have to put in the work and just as we have taken up more roles than historically thought possible .it's time we take a leadership approach and improve on all the situations that seem improbable
